As many as 14 usage, co-investing and management partners, all leaders of the media/audiovisual sector, have already signed formal agreements or, in some cases, extended Memorandum of Understanding with framework agreements aimed to one or more of the following agreements:

  • localization of media or audiovisual production, training and/or innovation facilities
  • co-investment and management of media production facilities
  • co-investment and management in media innovation, research and training facilities

UCLA University of California Los Angeles

The Center for Research in Engineering, Media and Performance (REMAP) is a joint effort of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science. It is involved in the creation of a Research Node in the Park. Its director Jeffrey Burke is also the Director of Technology Research Initiatives of the whole UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

Role: locator of permanent structures in the Park and Cluster, co-manager of training and research.

Projects in the Park: a workshop for 20 UCLA students in the Palazzo Chigi of Formello in June-July 2012 has been already formalized, together with other training activities for UCLA teachers at the Open Media Hub. In the future, activation of a permanent Research Node for R&D in technologies applied to performing arts, video and theater.

Gruppo SAE

It controls Qantm, Studio 301, world leader in audio post production for movies, and Neve, maker of the audio equipment used in the production of blockbuster movies like Avatar.

Role: Teaching and provision of services, infrastructure and spaces dedicated to audiovisual producers.

Projects in the Park: it will manage in the Park a 1,500 sqmt training centers which will host masters and advanced training classes, focused on multi-platform, cross-media content creation,  design of custom interfaces and cross-media authoring. It will also create a 500 sqmt audio recording studio for film post-production.

Università di degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza – CATTID

cattidProfile: The CATTID (Centre for Applications of Telvision and Distance Teaching Techniques) is a research center at La Sapienza University specialized in technology innovation, thanks to the skills acquired from various departments and faculties.

Role: Teaching and Research.

Projects in the Park: will contribute to the development of new open communication technologies for use and distribution of digital content,  optimization of the  audiovisual production processes, 3D modeling and e-learning. Later on it will place in the Park a separate department of itw own Logos laboratory, which will be connected to the GARR network, and will run masters and short intensive specialization courses.

BIC Lazio

bicProfile: Center for enterprise creation and innovation support of the Lazio Region. Currently manages a network of 7 business incubators located throughout the Lazio Region (from 1,000 to 3,500 sqmt each).

Role: Business Incubation.

Projects in the Park: it will manage a new BIC Lazio incubator on an area of 1,000/​​1,500 sqmt, for start-ups focused on innovative technologies, unencumbered by patents and based on free/open source software, for audiovisual material production and distribution.

Projects in the Park: it will set in the Park its sixth European location, after those in Amsterdam, Berlin, Monaco, Zurich, London. It will provide complete study and accomodation packages that are expected to attract at least 50% of foreign students, particularly from Europe.

Profile: Historical Society of Formello among the first in Europe for the extension, 7,000 square meters, the amplitude total, more than 45,000 cubic meters, of its studios and film studios equipped.
